Our new Lumberjack boot is made from Bookbinder antiqued calf leather in our specialist Mens factory in Spain. The moccasin style is fully leather lined and has a hand-stitched apron, split toe seam and moccasin lacing around the quarters. The silver eyelets are supplemented with a top ski hook and we’ve included a handy leather back pull tab. The chunky cleated sole is as tough as it looks, but is made from a super lightweight compound and topped with a leather stitched rand.

Light Weight Boots

When I first picked these out the box I could not believe how light they were. The leather is quite thin and almost plasticky. It is a bookbinder leather so is shiny but easy to care for with a wipe of a cloth.

I am normally 6.5 in Goodyear welted shoes but sometimes need a 7. Oliver Sweeney seems to have dropped doing size 6.5 in their shoes and boots so got these in size 7. They are massive! Even with a very thick pair of socks on they seem big. My advice to prospective buyers is drop at least half a size if you are considering buying these.

They are good looking boots however and very different to other ones I have. Not sure if I should keep them though.

Narrow fitting made it not fit to size.

Also no padding around the top and the leather was very thin. So unlike other Sweeney boots. This was by far the worst pair from Oliver Sweeney I’ve tried. Disappointing!

Poor quality

Leather was like stiff cardboard and the sole was cheap moulded, even at sale price these were well overpriced.
I have several pairs of OS shoes and boots that I love but these were really low quality
