Cortale Burgundy

Our premium semi brogue Derby boot is produced in our Artisan factory in Le Marche Italy. With a toe cap, the semi brogue is lightly plainer version of the traditional wing tip pattern. The upper is made from soft, supple deerskin, which has a naturally grainy texture and is antique finished by hand. We’ve included a leather back pull tab, lace loop and a neatly piped topline. Inside the boot is fully leather lined with a leather insock and additional cushioned leather heel pad. The big difference is the Bologna construction. The upper is sewn to a leather base forming a ‘sock’. This dispenses with the traditional insole board, creating a comfortable flexibility, which requires very little ‘wearing in’. The upper is produced on an elegant, slightly square toed last, which is Blake stitched to the St Moritz outsole – a practical cleated rubber sole with a slim profile.

This Italian speciality dates from the early 1900s. The upper is stitched to a soft leather sock rather than a traditional insole board, to form a 'glove'.
